Advanced step option "Disconnect Tolerance" is currently a step option independent of all inheritance. This can make it tricky if disconnect tolerance should be applied to a large number of steps. In my case, I'm having to remember to add a disconnect tolerance for each and every step I make, while old steps required mass edit to the XML files.

Creating a disconnect tolerance global option, or system setting, could be useful for instances with a large amount of external nodes that want to ensure there is an amount of tolerance across all nodes.
