The audit log purge will happen at system maintenance schedule, which can be defined at "administration/system setting" page, and it is by default set to 1:00AM every night.

In "administration/system setting" page, I set 'Audit Entry Preserve Days' is 30 days. The audit entries which are older than 30 days should be deleted by the maintenance schedule, but they are not deleted.

Audit Entry Preserve Days is 30 days, but I queried the log entries which were older than 1 year old, but they are still existing in the system.

Please check QB server log around 1:00AM to see if it contains below message:
Removing obsolete audit entries
And if yes, are there errors printed after that?

Thank you for promptly responses, Robin.
I looked into the server logs, and looks like the maintenance occurred, but it didn't delete the old audit logs. I attached the screenshots of the logs for your references. I will attach the log file as soon as I am in the office tomorrow..

Turns out to be a bug. Fixed now in QB 8.0.27:
