Description

Hi,
Request that user/group management be abstracted so that we can develope our own schemes (using JAAS?). One of the default schemes would be to provide LDAP support (lots of great tools for user/group mgmt with ldap), can also integrate into an existing active directory.
I believe JAAS would also provide the ability to enforce password policies, etc. (i'm assuming it does, I don't know for sure)
Another idea would be to have a default HTTP basic auth provider, whereby no username/pw would be provided. Instead the HTTP basic auth username would be mapped back to a username in quickbuild (or mapped through JAAS?). Then using Apache we could do NTLM or Krb5 auth or any kind of auth and simply pass that along.
Thanks,
Ed
