Currently, changing the type of a step clears all fields in the form, requiring re-entry of all values. Since the forms are so radically different between different step types, this usually isn't a problem, since changing the step type is only done initially. However, in the specific case of the 'serial composition' and 'parallel composition' steps, I have had several cases where I wanted to change the type of a step from one to the other for testing ("if it doesn't work in parallel, lets try it in serial"). When I do this, it is tedious to have to re-enter the sub-steps.
Changing the step type also resets the description, step necessary condition, and step success condition, requiring re-entry.
This is a request to preserve the values of the fields shared between the serial and parallel composition step types when changing the type of an existing step, particularly the 'Selected' field. It may also be of value to preserve all fields shared between any two step types when changing the type of an existing step.
