QuickBuild

Files in publish/.../artifacts directory have incorrect time stamp

Created: 07/Nov/06 08:47 AM   Updated: 23/Jan/07 04:27 AM
Component/s: None
Affects Version/s: None
Fix Version/s: None

Original Estimate: Unknown Remaining Estimate: Unknown Time Spent: Unknown
Environment: Windows 2003

 Description  « Hide
When a build completes and files are published from the build directory to the artifacts directory, the 'Last Modified' value (and the timestamp on the files themselves in the artifacts directory) is the time that the files were copied, not when they were generated. Since this is also the end-time of the build, it is redundant information and not useful. What would be useful is the initial creation time of the files.

Normally, when files are copied on Windows, the creation time is preserved. However, Quickbuild for some reason overwrites the creation time when it publishes files to the artifacts directory, making the 'Published artifacts' summary of questionable value.

This is a request that QuickBuild preserve creation/last modification time on the files when they are published. I would also like to see the ability to sort the files by timestamp rather than name under 'Published artifacts', but that is of secondary concern.

Thanks.
