Description |
I have one instance of Quick Build Server where I do all of my development of QB configurations. Once I have configuration done, I would like to export this configuration and all sub-configurations to file (XML is preferred).
In this way I could send this file to repository, delete configuration, and if I need it again I could import all steps from this file. Misc>Backup Configuration step is not working in a way I like (not creating the file, do not copy children configurations, do not copy parent steps used in configuration). Maintenance>Sync Configurations step is not good for me since I got only one instance of the server. What I am asking for is the ability to export a single configuration (and, optionally, its children if any) to an XML file. I would like to have in this file values of variables, repositories settings, all steps settings. Then, the ability to import the contents of an XML file into a new configuration, or to overwrite (update) an existing configuration without erasing the build history for that configuration. Basically I would like to have the snapshot of configuration, from which I could re-create specific configuration. |
